The Northeast Textile Promotion Scheme (NETPS) is a focused initiative of the Government of India to strengthen the textile, handloom, and apparel ecosystem in the Northeast region.

The scheme supports textile-based MSMEs through assistance for design development, branding, skill enhancement, capacity expansion, and modernization

NETPS aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities, enhance production quality, and promote the unique textile heritage of Northeast India.

Objectives

The North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) is an umbrella scheme implemented in project mode to promote textiles industry in the NER by providing infrastructure, capacity building and marketing support to the industry.
The scheme covers all sectors and sub sectors of the value chain of textiles, handloom, handicrafts, sericulture, jute etc.

Eligibility

The following entities are eligible to be the Implementing Agency for a project:
Agencies of the State Government.
Agencies of the Central Government.
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) registered under the Companies Act 2013.
Co-operative societies.
Self Help Group (SHG) federations.

How to Apply?

Identify your requirement – Choose what support you need: training, design development, branding, machinery, or marketing assistance.

Prepare basic documents – UDYAM Registration / Cooperative Registration – ID proof, address proof – Bank details – Proposal or description of support needed

Submit application – Apply through the State Directorate of Handloom & Textiles or the official implementing agency of the Ministry of Textiles. – You can submit online (if portal available) or offline at district handloom/textile office.

Verification & Approval – Authorities review your application and verify eligibility. – Eligible proposals are approved by state-level or ministry-level committees.

Receive support – Once approved, financial assistance or scheme benefits are provided either directly or as reimbursement.
