State MSME Excellence Awards

The State MSME Excellence Awards have been instituted to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements, innovation, and contributions of MSMEs across Assam. The awards honour enterprises that have demonstrated exceptional performance in manufacturing, services, trade and exports, while also acknowledging the achievements of MSMEs promoted by women, SC and ST entrepreneurs, as well as enterprises from Aspirational Districts. By recognising exemplary enterprises and individuals, the initiative aims to promote a culture of excellence, encourage continuous improvement and innovation, and inspire MSMEs across the State to strive for higher standards of growth, competitiveness, and contribution to Assam’s economic development. The awards provide a platform for highlighting successful enterprises across different sectors and categories, showcasing achievements that can serve as benchmarks for the broader MSME community. In addition to recognising business excellence, the initiative promotes wider appreciation of innovation, quality, inclusivity, and entrepreneurial leadership within the State's MSME ecosystem. By acknowledging outstanding performers and encouraging the adoption of best practices, the awards contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of MSMEs while promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and responsible enterprise development. The initiative also reinforces the importance of recognising entrepreneurial achievements that contribute to the sustainable growth of the MSME sector in Assam.

Objectives

The primary objective of the State MSME Excellence Awards is to recognise and honour outstanding MSMEs across Assam for their exemplary achievements in manufacturing, services, trade, exports and overall business performance. The awards seek to celebrate enterprises that have demonstrated excellence, competitiveness, and sustainable growth while contributing significantly to the State’s economic development.
The initiative also seeks to acknowledge and promote inclusive entrepreneurship by recognising enterprises led by women entrepreneurs, SC/ST entrepreneurs and MSMEs operating in Aspirational Districts, as well as individuals who have made exceptional lifelong contributions to the MSME sector. Through formal recognition of exemplary achievements, the awards aim to inspire MSMEs to continuously enhance their capabilities, adopt best practices and innovative approaches, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and strengthening of Assam’s MSME ecosystem.
