Fish feed pellet manufacturing involves formulating nutritionally balanced mixtures of rice bran, maize, soybean meal, fish meal, vitamins, and minerals; grinding ingredients to a uniform particle size; mixing; steam conditioning; pelletising or extruding; drying; cooling; and packaging. Assam’s strong aquaculture belts in Morigaon and Nagaon rely heavily on quality feed to improve fish growth rates and farm productivity. Locally produced feed reduces transportation costs, increases availability, and ensures that farmers receive fresh pellets with better water stability and nutrient retention. Specialised production lines can produce floating, slow-sinking, and sinking pellets for different fish species and growth stages.
