Capacity Building of New Enterprises

The Capacity Building of New Enterprises component under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme is designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Assam by addressing the capacity gaps faced by educated unemployed youth aspiring to establish their own enterprises. Recognising entrepreneurship as an important driver of economic development and employment generation, the intervention seeks to promote self-employment by equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and understanding required to transform business ideas into sustainable enterprises. The intervention focuses on creating an enabling environment for the establishment of new Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through structured capacity-building initiatives. A series of workshops and awareness programmes will be organised to introduce participants to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, enterprise development, and the opportunities available within the MSME sector. These programmes are intended to enhance awareness of entrepreneurship as a viable career option while encouraging greater participation in enterprise creation across the State. Over the implementation period, the intervention aims to facilitate the establishment of new MSMEs by building entrepreneurial capabilities among educated unemployed youth. By developing entrepreneurial knowledge and promoting informed decision-making, the component seeks to create a strong foundation for sustainable enterprise development and contribute to the overall growth of Assam's MSME ecosystem.

Objectives

The primary objective of this component is to equip educated unemployed youth with the entrepreneurial knowledge and resources necessary to successfully embark on their entrepreneurial journey. The intervention seeks to build their capacity through structured learning opportunities that improve their understanding of enterprise creation, encourage entrepreneurial thinking, and prepare them to establish new MSMEs.
The component aims to achieve this objective through a comprehensive approach comprising workshops and awareness programmes designed to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities. These programmes will provide participants with the necessary exposure to entrepreneurship and enterprise development while creating awareness about the opportunities and support available for establishing new businesses.
By fostering entrepreneurial knowledge and encouraging enterprise creation, the intervention aims to develop a pipeline of capable entrepreneurs who can contribute to employment generation, enterprise development, and the sustained growth of the MSME sector in Assam.

Expected Outcomes:

The implementation of this component is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Assam by enhancing the entrepreneurial capabilities of educated unemployed youth and supporting the establishment of new enterprises. Through structured capacity-building initiatives and awareness programmes, aspiring entrepreneurs will be better prepared to initiate and manage sustainable business ventures. This intervention is also expected to promote greater participation of youth and aspiring MSMEs, contributing to the creation of new MSMEs and supporting inclusive economic development across the State.
