This component is aimed at promoting the formalisation of unorganised Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Assam. The intervention seeks to encourage eligible enterprises to register under the Government of India's Udyam Registration system, thereby enabling them to become part of the formal MSME ecosystem. Formalisation is an important step towards improving the visibility, credibility, and long-term sustainability of enterprises operating in the State. The intervention will be implemented through a district level registration drive supported by extensive outreach and facilitation activities. MSMEs across Assam will be actively engaged through on ground support and information dissemination, to help them understand the registration process and its benefits. Particular emphasis will be placed on reaching unregistered enterprises and rural entrepreneurs who may have limited awareness of the formal registration framework. Through this initiative, enterprises will be sensitised to the advantages of formalisation, including improved access to government schemes, financial support, subsidies, and other institutional benefits available to registered MSMEs. By expanding the number of formally registered enterprises, the intervention seeks to strengthen the overall MSME ecosystem in Assam and improve access to opportunities for business growth.
