Assam and the North-East region possess rich biodiversity and medicinal plant resources, which provide opportunities for the development of Ayurvedic pharmaceutical units. Fiscal incentives such as financial assistance for MSME units, subsidies for herbal processing industries, and support for pharmaceutical manufacturing can encourage investment in this sector. Non-fiscal support, including research collaboration, quality certification, standardisation, skill development, and improved supply chain infrastructure for medicinal plants, can strengthen the Ayurvedic manufacturing ecosystem in Assam.
