Adventure tourism units offer activities such as trekking, rafting, wildlife exploration, and camping, attracting tourists seeking outdoor and nature-based experiences across Assam’s diverse landscapes.
Adventure tourism is rapidly growing in Assam due to its diverse natural terrain, including lush forests, flowing rivers, rolling hills, and wildlife-rich landscapes. Activities such as rafting in the Jia Bhoroli and Manas rivers, trekking in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, camping in Nameri, ziplining, mountain biking, birdwatching, rock climbing, paragliding, and caving attract thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts. MSMEs can establish adventure clubs, equipment rental services, guided tour operations, training centres, and camping facilities. The sector benefits from the North-East Adventure Tourism Circuit, which can improve connectivity, safety standards, and promotional visibility.
