The extracted oil is used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps, aromatherapy products, and herbal medicines. From a fiscal perspective, essential oil products attract applicable GST rates, while exports are zero-rated and may be eligible for RoDTEP benefits. Imports of distillation equipment may involve customs duties, with possible support under MSME and agro-processing schemes. From a non-fiscal perspective, compliance with quality standards, FSSAI requirements (where applicable), and essential oil purity norms is required.
